Scholastic Book Fair

TONASKET – Tonasket Elementary School is hosting an Scholastic Book Fair through Saturday, Dec. 1. This is the perfect time to buy lots of good books and jump-start your Christmas shopping.

Meeting Cancellation

OKANOGAN – The Okanogan County Parks and Recreation Board for the Fairgrounds and Facilities cancelled their Nov. 14 meeting date due to the death of a long time supporter and board member’s father, Coy Herriman. In respect, the meeting was cancelled and rescheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 12.

Seminar for Re-certification Credits

EMT’s Needed

OROVILLE – Oroville Ambulance Service is seeking community members to be trained and work as EMT’s (Emergency Medical Technician). Assistance is needed from community members that are able to train, pass a test and be available for the Oroville Ambulance Service. An EMT course will be offered beginning in January 2008. After School Program

TONASKET – The Community Cultural Center in Tonasket is offering an after school program on the second and fourth Wednesday’s of each month, which are early release days, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy art classes, Collection of Evidence help for students, with possibilities fro credit retrieval. Warren Miller film “Playground”

TONASKET – Sitzmark Ski Club will be showing the new Warren Miller ski film, “Playground” on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the THS Commons. There will be two showings, one at 2 p.m. and the other at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at The Bike Shop in Okanogan, II Sisters Video, Sitzmark Ski Shop in Tonasket, Princes and Expressions Espresso in Oroville. TONASKET – Join in the fun Friday, Nov. 30 during Tonasket’s Winterfest. 2007 Holiday City Walk is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., tree lighting and Santa is at 6 p.m. at the new park next to City Hall in Tonasket.

TONASKET – Tonasket Community Church UCC, 24 E. 4th St., will hold their bazaar on Friday, Nov. 30 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a lunch being served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Community Cultural Center’s Holiday Bazaar is held on Friday, Nov. 30 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with 28 vendors! North Valley Hospital Guild/ North Valley Assisted Living’s bazaar is on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tonasket Civic League (held at the Tonasket Elementary School) is on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Treasure House (Tonasket Senior Center) is on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

50 year Celebration

Library Book Sale

TONASKET – The Tonasket Library Book Sale is being held Nov. 29 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 30 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Tonasket Library. All proceeds from the sale support special library programs and community scholarships.

Young Dancers

TONASKET – Young Dancers of Tonasket meet every Monday at the Community Cultural Center (CCC), 411 S. Western Ave., from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Learn beginning ballet dance steps and learn to dance in harmony with one another. The first upcoming recital “A little Winter Celebration” is being held on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 5 p.m. at the CCC. Enjoy traditional baked goods and beverages after the show.
