BREWSTER – The Tonasket soccer team suffered two hard losses last week against Omak and Brewster.
On Tuesday, Oct. 13, the Tigers lost at home to Omak 4-3. Ashley Booker scored one goal while Kathylee Gibson scored the other two Tigers goals.
“I think we had a good game and played well,” Darren Collins, head coach, said. “It was a tough loss but everybody played a good game on both sides of the ball. Omak had a couple of fast forwards we couldn’t keep up with.”
On Thursday, Oct. 15, Tonasket lost in Brewster 6-1. Gibson scored the only Tiger goal.
“We had an okay game with a lot of unlucky touches on the ball,” Collins said. “The ball just didn’t seem to go where we wanted it to go.”
Collins said, with the way the teams in the Caribou Trail League are doing now, the final team to go to the playoffs may be chosen by a coin flip.
As of press time, the Tigers (2-8-0, 4-9-1) had not yet played at home against Cashmere on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Their last game of the regular season is on Saturday, Oct. 24 in Okanogan.
