Dear editor,
In the early days of our country, people worked together to survive. Community spirit was more than evident. Today we have become used to letting Sam do it; Uncle Sam that is.
Our world, our community and our nation still have needs. Perhaps even more than ever. By uniting we can do whatever needs to be done.
I belong to the GFWC Tonasket Civic League. We hold a bazaar every December, give a scholarship to a local high school senior every year, also have a HOBT leadership scholarship every year. In the past we have bought furniture for the library and items for the pool.
I would like to invite women of this community to join us and do even more. We meet the second Wednesday of each month. Together we can do great things.
