Our Father Who Art in Heaven

Bobby was born in Alamosa, Colorado and lived on Sunnyside Lane until he moved to Cortez in 1952 where he finished high school in 1954.

He was the first wrestler from Montezuma High School to make it to the Colorado State Championships where he wrestled as a 95-pounder and only lost to the state champion.He returned to Cortez for the 50 year high school reunion and joked with his teammates about wearing their wrestling outfits one more time.

He attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and Fort Lewis in Durango and seminary at Nashotah House in Nashotah, Wisc. He devoted his life to God and served as an Episcopal and Anglican priest for 35 years until he retired. He lead churches in Utah (Bluff and Dragerton), New Zealand (Invercargill and Ranfurly), Canada (Fort Vermilion, Alberta; Whitewood, Saskatchewan and Osooyos, British Columbia) and Washington (Oroville).

He was preceded in death by brother Edwin Wayne Campbell (Corky) of Mancos, Colo. and wife Roberta Nelson Campbell of Oroville, Wash.

He is survived by sister Sandra Heird of Cortez, Colo. and brother Donnie Campbell of Dolores, Colo.; former wife Julie Campbell of Alamosa, Colo., son Mark Campbell of Monument, Colo., daughter Miriam Baines of Dolores, Colo., daughter Laura Unsworth of Grand Forks, British Columbia, Canada; six grandchildren Alicia, Justin, Mackenzie, Keaton, Adam and Megan; two great grandchildren Aydn and Aurora and twin boys who will arrive later this year.

“L’il Bobby Dean” always reminded us how grateful he was for the wondrous adventure his life had been and finished his journey quietly in his sleep Aug. 13, 2016 in Colorado Springs.
