Mary Ann Huestis, 72 of Tonasket, died at North Valley Hospital in Tonasket on Jan. 12, 2011. Mary was born Sept. 30, 1938 in Odessa, Texas to Paul and Lucille Shope. She attended and graduated from Battleground High School and lived in the nearby town of Hicson, Wash. since she was 12 years old. Mary moved to Tonasket in 1995 and worked as an in home caregiver.

She is survived by five children: Daniel L. (Renee Estrada) Huestis of Tonasket, Glenn Huestis III of Tonasket, Bonnie L. Huestis of Centralia, Kathy M. Huestis of Morton, Wash., and Dealana P. Huestis of Strawberry Plains, Tenn.; one brother, Vernon Shope of Camus, Wash.; and many Grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, Richard Huestis.

Mary had many friends in Tonasket and throughout the Okanogan Valley. A Memorial Service is planned for the Springtime.
