Lloyd L. “Teed” Dorrel, age 79, of Tonasket passed away March 5, 2009 in Tonasket.
He was born in Tacoma on Jan. 5, 1930 to parents Cecil and Marian Dorrel. He was born and raised in the Wauconda area. High school sports included football, basketball and track. He entered the army in 1951 where he served at Camp Roberts. He returned to Tonasket and then married Echo Reese in 1953. He worked in the timber industry until 1963 when he and Echo purchased Noot’s Drive-In. After Noot’s, Teed went on to open the Pop Shoppe. Then in later years he was known for selling candy and ice cream to the kids at the Tonasket Swimming pool. He was a member of the Tonasket Eagles.
Lloyd is survived by his two sons: Lee and Casey both of Spokane; a brother, Leonard Dorrel of Tonasket; grandchild, Janae and great grandchild, Amaan.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Tonasket Eagles.
