Leon Fritz Sr., age 79, of Oroville passed away Nov. 12, 2011 in Wenatchee.

He was born Feb. 23, 1932 in Matador, Texas to Taylor and Nanny (Martin) Fritz. In Texas he worked in oil fields and on dairy farms. On Nov. 16, 1952 he married Helen Hybner in Jourdanton, Texas. Leon moved his family to Oroville, working in the fruit industry. He ran an orchard in Oroville and later another at White Stone. He loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He had many friends in the area. Everyone who knew him loved his stories and tall tales. He was either “Grandpa” or “Pa Pa” to all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Helen at home in Oroville son, Leon Fritz Jr., Oroville; one sister, Virgie Shannon, Texas

He was preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Nanny Fritz; and one son, William Fritz.
