Kenneth Dale Hovland, age 69 of Tonasket, died on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at his home. He was born August 24, 1947 in Rolla, North Dakota to parents Louis and Lucille Hovland.
He grew up on a farm until he was eight-years-old. He attended and then graduated from Renton High School in 1965. He entered the U.S. Marine Corp in 1966 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton.During war time he served at Danang, Vietnam. Following an honorable discharge from the military Ken worked at Kenworth Trucking for 30 years. He was a member of the Tonasket Eagles and Tonasket American Legion.
Ken is survived by his wife Julie Hovland, daughter Nikki Miller, step daughter Tina Shepherd, sister Kay Notaro, two grandchildren Elijah Miller and Gracie Miller, four step grandchildren Kirk Thelander, Candace Thelander, Jacob Shepherd and Austin Shepherd and two step great grandchildren Jasmine Thelander and Aundre Daniels.
Military services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Tonasket Cemetery with the Tonasket American Legion officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Tonasket Eagles. Memorials may be made to the Armed Forces Legacy or the Tonasket Eagles.
