Juanita Caroline ‘Tootsie’ Krusoff, age 72, passed away on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. She was born on July 1, 1938 in Springfield, Mo. to Jack and Hazel Pittsley. Juanita came to Oroville in 1942. On Aug. 31, 1957, she married Jordan Krusoff in Wenatchee. In 1961, they started the Oroville Trading Post, where he ran the shop and she ran the hardware store and was the bookkeeper. In 1996, she retired from the store but continued to do the books for her son Jerry until her death. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Oroville Grange. Toots was an avid crafter and made beautiful quilts and doilies. She enjoyed gambling and playing Bingo and looked forward to her trip to Nevada each year.
She is survived by two sons: Jay of Ketchikan, Alaska and Jerry of Oroville; three granddaughters: Desteny, Mikella and Carissa; and two great grandchildren
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Jordan; her parents; four brothers; four sisters and very special friend, Helen Glover.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 11 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Oroville with the Reverend Marilyn Wilder officiating. Memorials may be made to Oroville Streetscape or to an organization of choice.
