Helen Leona Farley, age 68 of Oroville died November 20, 2013 in Wenatchee. She was born in Fairpoint, Ohio on October 11, 1945.

As one of nine children, she learned at an early age how to take care of herself and to care for others. She moved to California in 1964 and married Patrick Farley, the love of her life. They would have had their 49th anniversary this Wednesday.

Helen’s two children credit her with their love of cooking, their desire to help the community, their take-charge attitude, and their love of humor.

Helen moved to Oroville with Pat about six years ago after living in Roy, Wash. for more than 30 years. Though the transition took some time, Helen grew to love this place and the people here as much as she did Roy.

Helen was known around town for her baked goods, her excellent cooking and canning, and her love of friendly banter. We love her dearly and she will be deeply missed.

A private service has already been held In Helen’s honor.
