Edna Delilah Robinson died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at her home on Sherman Creek Orchard near Kettle Falls at the age of 87.
She was born on April 8, 1925 in Cedar Edge, Colo., to Charles and Zenda Sawyers. Edna moved with her parents and sister of Oroville when she was 15. She attended and graduated from Oroville High School. She was voted May Queen her senior year. There she was introduced to Ivan Robinson by a boy friend of her sister, Elaine. Edna and Ivan were married Dec. 5, 1943 at the Methodist Church in Oroville. They had apple orchards most of their married lives first in the Oroville area and later in the Kettle Falls area. She also lived with her husband and family in Spokane for about 12 years.
Her hobbies were sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and collecting recipes to cook for the family. She served as a deaconess in her church for many years.
Edna is survived by her husband, Ivan Richard Robinson; her children: Gayle Swagerty, Sandra (Gary) Flatt, Rich (Lisa), David (Karyn) and Tom. She has 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Her sisters are: Elaine Chamberlin and Charlene Jacobsen.
Her daughter, Anne (Herb) Teitge, her daughter-in-law, Diane and her sister, Eloise Martin predeceased her.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
A memorial service for Edna will be held at the Ambulance Center in Colville at 425 N. Hwy 395.
