Donald R. “Dick” Harkness, 80, of Oroville died Friday, July 18, 2008 in Wenatchee.

He was a former Wenatchee resident and had lived in Oroville for the last four years. He had been a police officer in Wenatchee, the city marshal in Metaline Falls and owned and operated a restaurant and mechanics shop in Metaline Falls for several years.

Survivors include his children, Helen Kunishige of Koni Hawaii and Rick Harkness of Maui; his sister, Jean Jones of Oroville and his brother, Ben Harkness of Orofino, Idaho.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9 at the American Legion Hall in Oroville. In lieu of flowers you may donate to Cancer Care (Our House) in Wenatchee or make a contribution to a charity of your choice.
