Donald Lee Field, age 79 of Chesaw, died on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at his home that he loved so well. He was born June 27, 1936 at his grandfather’s homestead in Chesaw to parents Lloyd (Bus) and Lena Field.
Don attended and graduated from the Molson School and then entered the U.S. Army. Following an honorable discharge he worked in Davenport for two years before returning to the family homestead working with his folks until 1968 when he and his wife took on his dream of running the ranch. In August of 1966, he married Mary Ellen Leslie in Molson. Don was a member of the Knob Hill and Molson Granges and the Chesaw Rodeo Association. Continuing in his heart’s desire, Don received his wish on Feb. 18 when he left this world in the same house he was born in.
Don is survived by his wife Mary Ellen at the family home; children Mary Dawn (Bruce) Wyatt, Rodney (Angie) Field and Chad (Tammy) Field; grandchildren Melissa (Jimmy) and their children Savannh, Ryder and Ryah; Amanda (Jeremiah) and their children Caille and Jayla; Kendra (Noah) and their child Willie, Ciara; Lydia (Chase); Tyler Field; Derek (Sadie); Cody; Tyler M. and Katie M.; brothers: Ernie (Lavina) Field of Omak and family and Bill of Othello, Wash.; sister in Law Loretta (Cliff) Hays and family of Lind, Wash.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Alan and one infant sister, Katherine
At his request no services will be held. Memorials may be made to the Chesaw Rodeo Association or the Molson Grange.
