Don Henderson, age 76, of Tonasket died Aug. 21, 2011 at home. He was born April 19, 1935 to Ralph and Faye Henderson in Tonasket. Don grew up in the Tonasket area, graduating from Tonasket High School in 1952. In 1953 he entered the US Army, serving for two years. He returned to Tonasket and on Sept. 3, 1960 he married Nell Bunch. Don worked as a truck driver for many years; both as a log truck driver and later for apple warehouses. He had a love for local rodeos and was the voice of the Okanogan County Fair, Winthrop Rodeo and Tonasket Rodeo, as well as many others over the years. Don was a gold member of the PRCA, a member of the Tonasket Eagles and the Tonasket American Legion.
Don is survived by his wife Nell, at home; Son, Jody (Jennifer) Henderson of East Wenatchee; Daughter, Sandy (Curt) Blakeway of Lynden, Wash.; Brother, Tom Henderson of Tonasket; Four Grandchildren: Chris and Katie Henderson and Trent and Aaron Blakeway.
He was preceded in death by his daughter LaDonna and his parents.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Tonasket Eagles with a luncheon for family and friends to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Okanogan County Hospice.
