Danny Ray Nelson, age 63, of Oroville, Washington, died June 21, 2022 at his home. He was born July 9, 1958 in Tonasket, Washington, to parents Warren and Ardith Nelson.
An Oroville boy through and through, Danny knew the value of family and hard work from a young age. He began working in his father’s orchard before moving on to work with his mother at the warehouse. When his brother Jack began managing an orchard, Danny went to work with him driving tractor and keeping the machinery running. Broadening his experience, Danny went to work for the Young Adult Conservation Corps program with the Forest Service where he met his wife, Georgia. After their marriage, he began driving truck for Chamberlin Distributing and Wilbur Ellis Co. for 20 years and served his community as a volunteer firefighter.
Danny enjoyed spending time with family, especially on the 4th of July and Christmas. His proudest accomplishment was fathering his children, Tommy, Tim, Terry and Tamara and grandchildren, Cian, Arya, Summer and Malachi and cherished spending time with them as often as possible. Nothing made Danny happier than to sit around the kitchen table with a cup of coffee and shoot the breeze. Danny could always make you laugh and some of his favorite hobbies were fly fishing, tying flies and bow hunting.
He will be missed by many.
Danny is survived by his wife, Georgia Nelson; children, Tommy Nelson, Fairbanks, Alaska, Timothy (Holly) Nelson, Newman Lake, Washington, Terry Nelson and Tamara Nelson, Oroville; grandchildren, Cian, Arya, Summer and Malachi of Newman Lake; siblings, Kathy Howe, Oroville, Jerry (Jina) Nelson, Oroville and Scott (Sarah) Nelson, Oroville; mother-in-law, Georgia Columbia and numerous nieces and nephews.
