Carol “Cookie” Thorndike, age 69 of Oroville, died on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at her home in Oroville. She was born January 6, 1947 in Springfield, Missouri to parents Russell and Cora Clark.
Carol grew up in Missouri and later moved to Oroville, Washington. On June 27, 1978 she married Don Thorndike in Coeur d Alene, Idaho. Cookie loved the outdoors working in her yard, camping and especially fishing.
Cookie is survived by two sons, Ron Norton of Rathdrum, Idaho and Mike Benzing of Post Falls, Idaho; one daughter, Teresa Benzing of Oroville; four sisters, Nancy Downs of Wenatchee, Wash., Barbara Kensinger of Rogersville, Miss., Frankie “Cricket” Wilson of Oroville and Linda Green of Elma, Wash.; two brothers James Clark of Rathdrum, Idaho and Roger “Doc” Clark of Spokane; five grandchildren, Tabatha, Misty, Devin, Jessie and Taidan and two great grandchildren.
