Beulah Ruth Lakin, age 89, of Oroville died on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 at North Valley Extended Care in Tonasket.

She was born on Feb. 24, 1921 in Dunlap, Iowa. Ruth attended school in Dunlap and finished her schooling in Omaha, Neb. She married Doug Lakin and moved to California, where she worked for Howard Hughes and managed restaurants where they would cater meals to the movie stars who were making pictures near their restaurant. She later moved to Oroville where she worked in various warehouses. Ruth was a member of the Eagles, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Oroville Senior Center where for ten years she was in charge of the holiday potluck meals and two years was President.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and a brother.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Oroville Senior Center. Memorials may be made to an organization of your choice.
