CHESAW – U.S. Border Patrol agents seized approximately $350,000 worth of high-grade marijuana also known as “BC Bud” near Chesaw on May 14.
While on patrol in the Chesaw area early Friday morning, a Border Patrol Agent observed a male walking southbound near the U.S./Canada border with three large duffel bags attached to a backpack that was strapped to his chest. When the agent approached the subject, he became combative and fled north towards Canada. Despite an extensive search by Border Patrol Agents and Canadian authorities, the subject could not be located.
The duffle bags contained over 65 pounds of marijuana that was meticulously packaged in 24 separate vacuum-sealed plastic bags.
