MOLSON – On Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. a collision occurred on Chesaw Road just east of Molson Road involving a motorcycle and deer that resulted in a fatality.

Steven R. Clark, 46 of Tonasket, was the driver of the motorcycle and his wife, Tammy M. Clark, 45 of Tonasket, was a passenger. The Clarks were westbound on the Chesaw road from Havillah Road when a deer ran out onto the road. Clark said that he was unable to avoid a collision with the deer and the impact sent the motorcycle out of control. He said he slid with the motorcycle for a number of feet and realized that his wife was no longer with him and the motorcycle and had apparently come off the motorcycle at the point of impact. Clark was able to crawl to his wife and waited for help.

Both of the Clarks were transported to North Valley Hospital where Tammy Clark was declared deceased. Steve Clark was airlifted to Sacred Heart in Spokane.

Both Clarks were wearing helmets and no alcohol or drugs were involved. Family members were notified last night.
