Pastime Bar & Grill making big changes

The Pastime Bar & Grill will be transforming into a 21-and-over establishment starting this week. There will be new hours and other big changes are in store, like turning the restraunt half into a lounge, with an emphasis on sporting events, like the Seahawks games which will show on a new 110" television. OROVILLE – Tim and Dianna Naillon, the owners of the Pastime Bar and Grill, announced several big changes are in store for the establishment.

“After much thought about how to keep the Pastime economically viable in a community of such seasonal dining patterns, Dianna and I have decided the best option is to take it back to its roots, operating as a 21-and-older establishment,” said Tim Naillon.

“Though we have very much appreciated our family customer patronage, we have determined that for the Pastime’s long term prospects, this is the best way for our small family operated business to be sustainable and still offer great food and customer service,” he adds.

Under the new plan, the Pastime Bar and Grill will close Wednesday, Sept. 14. The bar will reopen Thursday, Sept. 15 with new hours of operation, Thursday through Tuesday, 3 p.m. until closing. The dining room will undergo a makeover, reopening as a sports and entertainment lounge Saturday, Oct.1 and remain a 21-and-over establishment moving forward.

The lounge will have 110” HDTV and comfortable seating to make the setting inviting and relaxing. music and DJ equipment will be set up permanently and a calendar of entertainment will be established, according to the couple. The kitchen will also get a makeover, and the menu will be shortened. Starting this Sunday, they will be open for all Seahawks games.

“Our focus will remain on tasty food and we will be adding same amazing new items in the near future. We hope the Pastime will remain a popular gathering place for residents and visitors,” added Dianna Naillon.

Brant and Vicki Hinzes purchased the former Pastime Tavern in early 2010 from the Larry DeVon and Jerry Hilderbrand families and did substantial renovations to the building before re-opening as a new farm to table restaurant and full service bar in the spring of 2013. The Naillons began leasing the business from the Hinzes in last summer carrying on with 21-and-over bar on the north side and a restaurant for all ages on the south side. That will change and when the restaurant side is reopened as a lounge featuring entertainment and sports viewing.
