Play to be presented on Nov. 12
OROVILLE – An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) production of Aladdin on Nov. 7 at 3:05 p.m. in the Oroville High School Commons.
Those auditioning should arrive at 3:05 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.
Among the roles to be cast are Aladdin and his mother, Princess Dory and her father the Sultan, along with his adviser the Grand Vizier and the keeper of the Book of Answers, Dinazade, and her sister Scheherazade. In addition, the cast includes the Mysterious One and some mischievous genies, a stubborn donkey and a spunky goat, as well as the scheming Cassim and Ali Baba, Sinbad and his sailors, wise-cracking palm trees and fleet-footed camels. More characters include the Cave of Wonders, vagabonds and even a pack of lost penguins.
Students, from Kindergarten through twelfth grade are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals Nov. 7-11 from 3:05 p.m. to 5:05 p.m. each day. Aladdin will be presented on Nov. 12 at the High School Commons.
