Company rolling out their ‘Golden Opportunities for Our Communities’ Plan
OROVILLE – On Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m. there will be an Open Forum and Workshop at the Oroville High School Commons discussing the closure of the Buckhorn Gold Mine in 2015.
The meeting is to discuss what is really happening in 2015 and beyond, according to Kinross representatives. Part of the planning will include meeting with business owners, social and economic impact analysis reports and community surveys.
Following the forum people will be able to stay up to date on the Kinross Kettle River-Buckhorn Facebook page for announcements, updates and information in general regarding the company’s Golden Opportunities Plan.
Through cooperation with the state Department of Commerce and the Republic Chamber of Commerce’s Business and Tourism Committee, Kinross has organized a Business Development Conference in Republic focusing on entrepreneurial training and business support. These sessions are for businesses dreamed, new and old, according to Kinross.
“Closure is part of the life of every mine. Let’s make this closure process a success. Take pride in what has been accomplished and join us in participating in Golden Opportunities for our communities,” says Kinross.
