Eric Griffin

OROVILLE – Newly licensed real estate agent Eric Griffin officially joined the Oroville Realty team Thursday, Jan. 2 – about 24 hours after passing his licensing exam in Spokane.

He brings to the already well-rounded office team years of experience in apartment management and a strong interest in developing commercial and multi-family properties in the greater Okanogan area.

Griffin grew up visiting “Okanogan Country” every month, while his stepfather made rounds as consulting psychiatrist for what was then known as Okanogan County Mental Health. His mother Renee (herself a resident of Oroville for the past six years) has been nearly lifelong friends with Jim and Marilyn Blue of Riverside and Eric has many fond memories of camping, hiking and playing in the river with the Blues and their children, Jason and Kristin. Now, his two kids are building their own favorite childhood memories in this area, playing with the Blue’s grandchildren.

Griffin received his Associate of Arts degree from South Puget Sound Community College, where he twice was named to the Dean’s List for outstanding academic achievement. He worked on his Bachelor’s degree at The Evergreen State College, where he concentrated on business and non-profit administration. In addition to his real estate training, he has avidly pursued other continuing education opportunities including customer service, fair housing laws, public speaking and civic engagement.

In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering with his family. Over the past few years he has worked with the Seattle Aquarium, North Okanogan Habitat for Humanity, Kiwanis, the YMCA and the Tonasket Chamber of Commerce.

Shortly after his mother relocated from Seattle to Oroville, more and more of their relatives started to move to the area; including his grandmother, three aunts, several cousins and a whole herd of cousin’s kids. When a job opening for apartment managers developed in Tonasket, Griffin and his wife Julianna jumped at the opportunity to leave “big city living” behind and moved across the state to join the rest of their family. Since then, Julianna Griffin’s sister, nephew and parents have either made the move themselves, or are currently planning to.

What’s so great about living here, some die-hard city friends have asked? “There’s just something about the combination of four stunningly different and beautiful seasons; abundant recreational opportunities; friendly neighbors; and cheerful small-town service.” said Griffin.
