OROVILLE – Edna Leslie has packed up her scissors and shears and moved to a new location off Central Ave. in Oroville.
Leslie, who was born and raised in Oroville, has been barbering for over 20 years, first partnering with Jim Barnes in his Oroville barber shop in 1987.
In 1988 she moved to a location across from what is now Hometown Pizza and was there for five years before moving to the former Cascade Market building where His & Her Haircut customers were able to find her for the next 16 years.
“I’ve moved back up town as of the first of June,” said Leslie, who invites everyone to stop in at 814 Central Ave., No. 2 and check out her “nice new shop” next to VIP Insurance and across from Sterling Savings Bank.
Her husband Milton recently retired from heading up the County Road Crew in Oroville in April.
“I thought I might be ready to retire, but now I think I want to cut hair forever. I would like to thank everyone for their loyalty,” said Leslie.
Her regular working hours are Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (she breaks for lunch from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.) and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
She can be reached by phone at (509) 560-0270.
