Jane Dexter, age 71, passed away on June 17, 2008 at North Valley Extended Care in Tonasket.
She was born Aug. 1, 1936 in Kelowna, B.C. to Rosie and John McDougall. Jane and Jim married Dec. 17, 1970 and lived all throughout the Okanogan Valley, settling in Omak. They have numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jane was a member of the Westbank First Nations – Westbank, B.C. Canada.
She is survived by her husband, James F. Dexter; her mother and father-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. James Dexter Sr.; her children: Richard McDougall, Merle Hourie, George Lezard, William, Dale McDougall, Marion Dexter and Rosalie Dexter; her brothers and sisters: David McDougall, Harold McDougall, Jerry McDougall, Hank McDougall, Marion Couch and Donna McDougall.
Jane is preceded in death her parents: Rosie and John McDougall; a brother: Sidney; a sister: Annie; a daughter: Brenda and a son: Emery.
Services were held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Westbank, B.C. Canada. They were officiated by Father Dave and internment followed at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Shannon Lake Rd. Memorials may be made to the Elders Hall, Shannon Lake Rd.
