Colleen Anne Sherlock of Tonasket, died suddenly on Feb. 19, 2011.
She was born in Nampa, Idaho on April 12, 1937 to Fred and Melvie Louise Feeny. Soon thereafter they moved to the Portland, Ore. area where she would spend her childhood. It was there she met and later married the love of her life, Richard Sherlock. They would be blessed with 49 years of marriage, during which they would live in California, Seattle and Vashon Island where they spent 29 of those years raising their two children. Colleen enjoyed participating in her children’s activities such as horse shows, cub scouts, fishing and boating, camping and motor cross. In 1990 Richard and Colleen purchased a pear farm in Oroville, where she was an avid gardener. They would later settle in Tonasket, where she continued to be a devout and active member of the Catholic Church. She was fortunate to make several pilgrimages to a small village named Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzegovina, where the Blessed Virgin Mary has been appearing and giving messages to the world. She was also able to travel extensively throughout Europe, the highlight of which was visiting Vatican City and attending a mass given by Pope John Paul II.
Above all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. Her family and faith is what she devoted her life to.
Colleen is survived by her daughter, Ronda Sherlock, of Shoreline; son John Sherlock and his wife Laura, of Omak; and her cherished granddaughter Anne.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard in 2007; her parents; brother, Thomas; and sister, Jackie.
Services will be held in Tonasket at the Holy Rosary Catholic Parish on Saturday, March 5 at 11 a.m.
Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel is in care of the arrangements.
