TONASKET – One third of the way through 2011, North Valley Hospital District is doing well.
At the regular board meeting on Thursday, April 28, Chief Financial Officer Bomi Bharucha said April was a good month for the district.
“If we bring in $36,000 on Friday, we’ll meet our target,” Bharucha said. “There were kudos all around from the finance committee and everything seemed good at the finance committee meeting with the county commissioners.”
Human Resources Director Jan Gonzales said the union bargaining which was completed recently went quickly and smoothly. She said the entire process was very pleasant.
Business Development Coordinator Terri Orford explained to the board that the New Market Tax Credit was interpreted incorrectly by the district.
“It’s a loan program, not a grant,” she said. “So we will not be pursuing it until we’re out of warrants.”
NVH Administrator Linda Michel said the commissioners were happy with the district during the finance committee meeting.
“They were happy to know we have some goals and they were impressed with the plan,” Michel said. “What pleased me most with the strategic plan was that some of the things we were going to do in quarter two are already done. The staff has worked hard. The management and department heads had to come up with their own goals and I was impressed with what they chose because we’ve never done anything like this before.”
The next hospital board meeting will be on Thursday, May 12 at 7 p.m.
